What is a fissure?
A fissure is a geological event where large cracks or crevices develop on the earth's surface due to the water table shrinking, which is greatly exacerbated by man pumping too much water from the underground water table.  Because we pump loads of water from underground wells here in Arizona, the earth settles into the gaps underground where the water was and forms cracks on the earth's surface.  Arizona homebuyers need to be aware of where they are buying and if there are any fissures located nearby. This why we are providing you with TONS of information about them and maps of where they can be found.  After we told one of our clients about the fissure problems here in the Valley and directed them to our map on our website, they were concerned and decided to really "dive in" and learn all about them.

The following information was generously given to us by our clients, Sean and Liz (from England) to assist any future clients of ours. Sean & Liz are buying a home here in the Valley & were concerned about fissures wherever they purchased. They found quite a lot more information on fissures in Arizona than what our website provided, so to Sean & Liz...we say a big "THANK YOU!" Sean has even become a regular blog author of ours to write about information he discovers while in the process of buying a home.
